The Los Angeles Kings and the Kings Care Foundation have raised a franchise-record $1.5 million during the 2012-13 season through a series of fundraising events and opportunities culminating in an unprecedented year of monetary assistance to local charities and organizations in need, the club announced tonight.
In January, the Kings -- in a joint effort with McDonald’s – announced they would donate $1 Million to local charities as a special “Thank You” to the city of Los Angeles for its support this past calendar year. The announcement was made at STAPLES Center by team officials including our players.
Some of the more notable recipients of support include: Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Boys and Girls Club of America, City Year Los Angeles, Reading is Fundamental and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
